The Siskiyou Music Project welcomes the “Hristo Vitchev / Jivko Petrov Duo Project” — American-Bulgarian modern jazz guitarist Hristo Vitchev joins forces with one of Eastern Europe’s most accomplished modern jazz pianists — Jivko Petrov.

In this unique duo setting Hristo Vitchev and Jivko Petrov seek to explore the multihued sonic tapestry of the modern cross-cultural and dynamic world we live in, drawing inspiration from the many different places that have shaped and influenced each one of them. The synergy they share on and off the stage helps them create an immediately identifiable sonic signature. Both Hristo and Jivko have an extensive discography catalog as leaders with their own groups with multiple award winning albums released over the years and currently they are working on their debut album with this duo project.

This performance will take place at the Old Siskiyou Barn and seating is very limited. Make your reservations early.

Originally from Bulgaria, but now based in the San Francisco Bay Area, the impressionistic guitarist combines elements of classical, modern jazz, folk, and avant-garde sonic hues in his music. He has performed at some of the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals in the world and continues to amaze both critics and audiences alike with his imaginative, lyrical and illustrious writing.
Furthermore, over the years Hristo has performed extensive guitar clinics in USA, Europe and Japan.

About Jivko Petrov:
Pianist Jivko Petrov is one of the most accomplished and unique modern jazz pianists in Easter Europe. His trio JP3 has won critical acclaim with all of his award winning releases over the years and have been featured in the most important jazz festivals and clubs in Europe.
As a composer Jivko is also one of the most predominant figures in the Bulgarian scene where his talents have been widely used in film, tv and by the area’s biggest pop stars.
Equally at home in the jazz and classical idiom, Jivko’s unique touch and voice on the instrument has impressed audiences for the last few decades.
The trio’s latest album “On The Way” was also once of the most important new releases in 2023 over the American Jazz airwaves achieving very high placement on the JazzWeek charts.
