SUMMARY:Jessica Fichot Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Siskiyou Music Project welcomes back Jessica Fichot and her quartet for a performance on Wednesday\, August 30 at 7:00 p.m. at Grizzly Peak Winery in Ashland. \nAccompanied by her accordion\, toy piano\, and fiery band\, Los Angeles-based chanteuse and songwriter Jessica Fichot draws from her multi-ethnic French / Chinese / American heritage to create an intoxicating multilingual fusion of French chanson\, Shanghai jazz\, gypsy swing and international folk. With 3 acclaimed albums under her belt\, Jessica has brought her music to audiences around the world – regularly performing in China\, Mexico\, Canada and across the U.S and western Europe — backed by her talented musicians (on clarinet/sax\, upright bass\, drums and guitar) and singing in French\, Mandarin Chinese\, Spanish and English. Jessica’s music has been hailed as “enchantingly original” by the LA Weekly\, and “a glittering testament to L.A.’s multiculturism” by the L.A. Times. \nBorn in Upstate New York to a Chinese mother and French father\, Jessica spends her youth in and around Paris. Moving to Boston after graduating from an international high school in France\, Lycée International\, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music. While still in college\, she polished her songwriting skills by composing countless children’s songs for a local children’s theater\, and later\, for publishing companies specializing in educational material. Over a hundred of her children’s songs are featured as part of ESL programs published in over a dozen countries. \nRelocating to Los Angeles\, she embraces her international influences and independently releases her critically acclaimed 2007 debut album\, “Le Chemin”\, garnering the stamp of approval from tastemakers such as LA Weekly\, San Francisco Chronicle\, and KCRW — and licensing a few songs in major movies and TV shows on the way. She also gets a chance to tour the world — traveling regularly throughout the U.S\, and occasionally to Mexico\, Canada\, China and Western Europe — performing on vocals\, accordion and toy piano and accompanied by a fiery band of clarinet\, double bass and guitar.

SUMMARY:Sinne Eeg & Josh Nelson ~ The Art of The Duo ~ SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:This performance is now SOLD OUT! if you’d like to be on our cancellation wait list please send us an email to mail [at] siskiyoumusicproject.com. \nSMP presents welcomes back Danish jazz vocalist Sinne Eeg for her third southern Oregon appearance and first time at the Old Siskiyou Barn. She will be joined by pianist Josh Nelson who some of you may remember from when he performed here with vocalist Sara Gazarek. \nThis concert will conclude our Spring season and will take place on Wednesday\, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Old Siskiyou Barn in Ashland.\nSeating is very limited. \n\nDanish jazz vocalist Sinne Eeg (sée-neh/ée) is known throughout the world\, but it all started in a small town called Lemvig in September 1977. Sinne grew up in a jazzy home\, where her father played double bass\, her mother the clarinet and her brother the saxophone. Naturally\, Sinne started singing. She graduated in 2003 from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Esbjerg and then moved to Copenhagen to pursue her career. Her plan obviously worked. After putting in her time for years on the road\, performing at small clubs and cafes\, Sinne won her first Danish Music Award for her album “Waiting For Dawn” in 2007. Her dark vocals and modern interpretation of Nordic jazz touched audiences all over Europe and Asia. Since then\, Sinne has released several prize-winning albums\, including her solo album “Dreams” from 2018\, recorded in New York City with Scott Colley\, Joey Baron\, Larry Koonse and Jacob Christoffersen. In early 2020 Sinne released one of her biggest projects ever: “We’ve Just Begun”\, a winning collaboration with the 19-piece Danish Radio Big Band and her 9th album overall. The record was produced by André Fischer (Diane Schuur\, Nina Simone\, Natalie Cole) and mixed at the acclaimed Capitol Studios in Los Angeles by the legendary Al Schmitt (Frank Sinatra\, Miles Davis\, Ray Charles). The album has received countless international rave reviews\, hovered high for many weeks on the American JazzWeek Top 50 chart\, and continues to enjoy frequent airplay in all radio markets. Sinne has many loyal fans in the US\, Scandinavia and Asia\, especially China and Japan. She is poised for a major breakthrough in the US\, where she regularly tours. She has performed with American jazz icons including Larry Goldings\, Peter Erskine and Ken Peplowski; and at storied jazz clubs including Green Mill in Chicago and Birdland in New York. The Danish songstress is versatile\, equally comfortable fronting big orchestras in concert halls as well as smaller ensembles in intimate jazz clubs. Everywhere she sings – Tokyo\, Copenhagen\, Los Angeles or Madrid – audiences are mesmerized by her incandescent phrasing and scatting\, all with natural\, perfect pitch. Sinne Eeg is not only a brilliant vocalist; she is also a great songwriter. Her talent for writing and composing won the prestigious Danish Carl Prize 2018 for Song Of The Year\, “Aleppo”\, included on her album “Dreams”. Sinne has received numerous accolades\, including four Danish Music Awards\, the Danish Radio P2 Jazz Prize\, the Ben Webster Prize\, the French Prix Du Jazz and Queen Ingrid’s Honorary Grant\, personally awarded by Queen Margrethe of Denmark.

SUMMARY:HARVEY WAINAPEL QUARTET
DESCRIPTION:Featuring Matt Sazima – piano Garrett Baxter – bass\, Alan Jones – drums Harvey Wainapel – saxes \nOriginal compositions; fresh arrangements of standards; songs that ought to be standards; plus some Brazilian spice! \nSiskiyou Music Project welcomes back Bay Area saxophonist Harvey Wainapel. Harvey will be performing with a great rhythm section featuring Portlands Matt Sazima on piano\, Alan Jones on drums and Ashland’s own (now a Portland resident) Garret Baxter for an evening of straight ahead jazz and Brazilian music. \nPlease note this will be a matinee performance and will start at 4 p.m. \n“Wainapel proves that he is amongst the most imaginative\, sensitive and creative saxophonists of the post-Coltrane era…” ––The San Francisco Examiner \n“Wainapel displayed incredible intimacy with the language of Brazilian music and great stage presence…” ––O Globo (Rio de Janeiro) \nCan a man serve two masters? \nIf the cat in question is Bay Area reed expert Harvey Wainapel\, and the disciplines are jazz and Brazilian music\, the answer is a resounding yes. A supremely eloquent clarinetist and a saxophonist of unusual presence and power\, Wainapel is a truly ambidextrous artist who has delved deeply into two vast and variegated traditions. Of course\, musical currents have ebbed and flowed between the two continental nations for much of the past century\, and Wainapel is fully at home at the confluence of those influences (he’s toured widely with Brazilian jazz giants Airto Moreira and Flora Purim). But most of the time he’s got his feet firmly planted in one country or the other\, even if his experience in the south shapes his work as an improviser. “The Brazilian side injects a lot of emotion into my playing\, and it opened up my concept of melody and harmony\,” Wainapel says. \nWainapel (pronounced wine-apple) got his start as a jazz musician\, and over the past three decades he’s performed with masters such as pianists Kenny Barron and McCoy Tyner\, tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson\, drummer Billy Hart\, and fellow reed expert Joe Lovano. He made his recording debut as a leader with 1994’s At Home/On the Road (JazzMission Records)\, a critically hailed post-bop session exploring compositions by the likes of Woody Shaw\, Sam Rivers\, and Wayne Shorter. Wainapel followed up two years later with Ambrosia: The Music of Kenny Barron (A Records)\, featuring a suite of Barron’s tunes arranged by Jeff Beal for the Metropole Orchestra and a set of Barron’s Brazilian-inspired music for a sextet with Marcos Silva on keyboards. Kenny Barron himself was on hand for piano duties on Wainapel’s acclaimed 1998 straight-ahead quintet session The Hang (Spirit Nectar/JazzMission)\, which also features drummer Kenny Wollesen and the brothers Phil and Larry Grenadier on trumpet and bass\, respectively. \nWainapel’s first full recording of Brazilian music was 2004’s New Choros of Brazil (Acoustic Music Records/Proteus Entertainment)\, a gorgeous duo collaboration with legendary Brazilian guitarist Paulo Bellinati. Rather than focusing on Brazilian standards\, they assembled a program of previously unrecorded choros by masters like Sergio Assad\, Guinga\, Sergio Santos\, and Dori Caymmi. “I’m really proud of it\,” says Wainapel\, who plays clarinet exclusively on the album. “That project gave me a lot of confidence.” \nHis two most recent recordings\, Amigos Brasileiros and Amigos Brasileiros Vol. 2\, are part of Wainapel’s ongoing process documenting his passion for contemporary Brazilian music. Recorded with a superlative cast of Brazilian instrumentalists he’s befriended during his many travels around the country\, the albums include several tunes written specifically for the project. In many ways Amigos Brasileiros serves as a savvy on-the-ground survey of the contemporary Brazilian scene\, a thoughtfully curated guide to musicians; musicians in a nation bound together by sound.

DESCRIPTION:Siskiyou Music Project welcomes back guitarist Gonzalo Bergara and his Quintet for a concert on Thursday\, September 29 at 7 p.m. at the Grizzly Peak Winery Performance Space in Ashland.\n\n\n\n“Gonzalo Bergara presents his latest release “9” featuring Leah Zeger\n\nGonzalo Bergara has emerged a virtuoso composer and lead guitarist\, mixing a cascade of arpeggios with the sounds of Paris and his native Argentina\, to forge his own style of progressive Gypsy Jazz.\n\nThe Gonzalo Bergara Quartet (GBQ) explores a modern variant of the 1930s Django Reinhardt-inspired sound. The Quartet’s first CD\, Porteña Soledad\, was Editor’s Pick in Guitar Player Magazine\, and Vintage Guitar Magazine called it a “masterpiece.” The music is heavily influenced by Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club of France\, as well as the traditional jazz and music of Bergara’s true home\, Buenos Aires. “Gonzalo Bergara’s music exists in a way that very little music does. He has lavished such care on every phrase\, built each arrangement with such lapidary precision and pared away anything extraneous\, the music becomes sculpture. It has weight\, density\, gravity. This is serious….and deeply moving.\n \n\n\n \n\n\n\nGonzalo Bergara Quintet\n\n\nGeneral $30.00 USDMembers $25.00 USDStudent with I.D $10.00 USD

SUMMARY:Jennifer Scott/Rene Worst
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, June 19th Father’s Day: 2:00 p.m. & 7:00 pm \nSiskiyou Music Project welcomes back two of Western Canada’s finest jazz musicians\, Jennifer Scott & Rene Worst for an intimate performance at the Old Siskiyou Barn. There will be an afternoon set at 2:00 p.m. and an evening performance at 7:00 p.m. \nConsidered the finest jazz vocal improviser in Canada by her peers\, her fans and by the musicians who work with her\, Jennifer Scott is an important Jazz Voice. She has sung with such Jazz Greats as: Gene Bertoncini\, Clark Terry\, Tommy Banks\, Paul Horn and Kenny Wheeler to name a few. She has been nominated for Juno and Jessie Awards with ‘Mythos’ and theatre production ‘War of the Worlds.’ \nJennifer Scott has performed to sold out crowds from San Diego to Vancouver to Whitehorse on the West Coast of Canada and has begun a major foray onto the world stage including performances in Amsterdam\, Milan and Rome. Jennifer was also featured at Stanford University performing at the Miles Davis tribute concert for their Concert series in tandem with The Jazz Museum in Harlem. More recent studio work has seen her align her vocal talents with the piano brilliance of Miles Black in the CD release Storybook. \nBassist Rene Worst has been a professional bassist since 1971. His virtuosic and supportive bass playing has been a Canadian treasure for many years on both acoustic and electric basses. He is as gifted on fretless as he is on acoustic – a rarity in the industry. Rene was educated both in Canada and the US. Rene Worst is one of the founding members of the noted fusion band “Skywalk” and has anchored and produced six recordings with them. He is also a highly regarded Producer. \nBorn in Ifar\, New Guinnea in 1954\, he moved to Canada with his family in 1960\, settling on the West Coast where he grew up and went to school. At an early age he showed an aptitude for music\, in particular jazz bass\, and it wasn’t long before he was out establishing himself as a leading jazz bassist performing with the likes of: Chet Baker\, David Bowie\, Mark Murphy\, Joe Pass\, Herb Ellis\, Freddie Hubbard\, Paul Horn\, Gene Bertoncini\, Bud Shank and many other jazz greats. \nTo read a review by noted L.A. Times Jazz Critic Don Heckman from Jennifer and Rene’s last southern Oregon performance in 2015 click here. \nFrom a recent review by noted Jazz journalist Andy Gilbert (Jazz Times): \n“Scott has set herself apart from the jazz-vocalist pack with her mesmerizing renditions of the most unlikely tunes … With her warm\, flexible contralto\, Scott brings a striking emotional intelligence to everything she sings\, no matter what the context. As much a song stylist as an improviser\, she puts her stamp on material through her supple sense of swing and deft\, slippery phrasing.”

SUMMARY:Intermodulation/Undercurrent: A Tribute to the music of Bill Evans & Jim Hall
DESCRIPTION:Thor Polson\, piano and Ed Dunsavage\, guitar\nMatinee: 2:00 p.m. SOLD OUT.\nEvening performance: 7 p.m. SOLD OUT! \nCost: $30 General Public\, $25 for SMP Members\, $10 with student ID. \nOur next performance takes place on Saturday\, May 14 at the Old Siskiyou Barn and will feature pianist Thor Polson and guitarist Ed Dunsavage paying tribute to the recordings of Bill Evans and Jim Hall. Both performances are now sold out. There will be no intermission at either performance. Seating is very limited\, reserve early. \nIn 1962\, pianist Bill Evans and guitarist Jim Hall met to record the first of two of the most influential jazz recordings. Piano and guitar duos are rare\, as their similarities can make it difficult for the musicians to stay out of each other’s way\, but Evans and Hall made their similarities their strength. Both had used space as a key element in their music\, moving away from the unrelenting intensity of bebop. \n“Undercurrent” from 1962 contained a mix of jazz standards\, including a rare up tempo version of “My Funny Valentine\,” along with the Hall original “Romain.” In his November 26\, 1962 review for Down Beat magazine jazz critic Pete Welding stated: “This collaboration between Evans and Hall has resulted in some of the most beautiful\, thoroughly ingratiating music it has been my pleasure to hear” \nFour years later Evans and Halls recorded the second and last of their duo albums.  “Intermodulation” continued the mix of standards with originals “Turn Out the Stars” from Evans and “All Across the City” from Hall. Writing for Allmusic\, music critic Michael G. Nastos wrote of the album: “A duet recording between pianist Bill Evans and guitarist Jim Hall is one that should retain high expectations to match melodic and harmonic intimacies with brilliant spontaneous musicianship. Where this recording delivers that supposition is in the details and intricacy with which Evans and Hall work\, guided by simple framings of standard songs made into personal statements that include no small amounts of innovation.” \nEvans died in 1980 at age 50\, and they never had the opportunity to record again. Hall died in 2013 at age 83. \nSiskiyou Music Project will abide by current state of Oregon Covid 19 Protocols.

SUMMARY:Kat Edmonson ~ SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:Old Fashioned Gal\nThis performance is now sold out. If you’d like to be on a wait list for cancellations\, please send us an email. \nSiskiyou Music Project closes it’s Fall/Winter Series with a performance by New York based singer-songwriter Kat Edmonson on Friday\, February 28 at the Artistic Piano Gallery in Medford. Her latest recording is called Old Fashioned Gal\, an album that really couldn’t be called anything else. \nRich in affection for the past but bracingly alive in the present\, the 11 original songs on Old Fashioned Gal tell a story––actually\, a classic Hollywood “movie” that took shape in Edmonson’s imagination as she began to write them. These songs have all the feeling and the craft\, even the entertaining bounce\, of the Great American Songbook\, from Irving Berlin to Joni Mitchell but they are unmistakably Kat Edmonson’s songs\, taking the full measure of her own voice\, literally and figuratively. The inimitable voice in which she sings is a musical prism\, crystalline and precise\, refracting and transforming what shines through it. The voice in which she writes is clear\, intensely aware and to the point––an “old fashioned gal” in the here and now. \nEdmonson describes her process\, “The main ingredients I used to make this record were piano\, bass\, guitar\, and drums; however\, there is a 13-piece string orchestra on the album as well as background vocals\, horns\, woodwind instruments\, vibes and other percussion\, organ\, celesta\, harp\, ukulele…even a saw! I was trying to achieve the lushness of an MGM musical. In “Canoe\,” my lyrics talk about mosquitos and katydids around a lake so\, for that song\, I went outside one evening and recorded the ambient sounds of insects and frogs. THAT was really fun!” \nIn little more than a decade\, Kat Edmonson has emerged as one of the most distinctive performers in contemporary American music. The Texas native forged her sound performing in small rooms and clubs\, then touring worldwide and performing with the likes of Lyle Lovett\, Chris Isaak\, Jamie Cullum and Gary Clark Jr. Her three previous albums revealed a singer discovering\, in her own songs\, a repertoire only she could imagine. A critic for the Boston Globe called Way Down Low\, her second album\, “one of the greatest vocal albums I’ve ever heard.” Her third\, The Big Picture\, took greater advantage of her songwriting abilities. The Austin Chronicle’s critic noted she “employs lessons gleaned from the Great American Songbook while creating an aura unmistakably her own\,” adding that the songs emerge “fresh and dewy … Edmonson’s voice swells and dips and weaves with effortless precision\, arresting without belting.

SUMMARY:Jazz Guitar Great\, Joshua Breakstone
DESCRIPTION:with bassist John Wiitala\nFire in velvet. A fitting description of Joshua Breakstone’s jazz guitar\,” wrote Paul Weidman in The Sante Fe New Mexican. “His flowing lines on up-tempo cookers are impeccably clean and fiery\, bearing the mark of a first-rate improviser\, while his chordal work on heartbreaker ballads is the final word in finesse\,” has raved Guitar Player magazine. Japan’s Jazz Hihyo (aka Jazz Critique) recognizes that “The style in which Joshua develops his fluid single-note solos used to be thought of as the Grant Green school\, but now this man leads the school. Downbeat also has written that “There is no shortage of young\, knock-out jazz guitarists about us these days. And Joshua Breakstone is among the best of them.” \nJoshua has performed and recorded with many of the jazz greats including Pepper Adams\, Kenny Barron\, Dennis Irwin\, Keith Copeland\, Jimmy Knepper\, Tommy Flanagan\, Dave Shapiro and Kenny Washington. \nHis newest recording is entitled “Children of Art” a tribute to Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. \n“His flowing lines on up tempo cookers are impeccably clean and fiery\, bearing the mark of a first-rate improviser\, while his chordal work on heartbreaker ballads is the final word in finesse.” Guitar Player Magazine

SUMMARY:Patti Moran McCoy/Ed Dunsavage ~ SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:This performance is now SOLD OUT! If you’d like to be on the list for cancellation or for a possible future show\, please send us an email here. \nSiskiyou Music Project kicks off its 18th season with a collaboration featuring pianist Patti Moran McCoy and SMP artistic director Ed Dunsavage on guitar. This will be their second performance at the Old Siskiyou Barn and they will be exploring music from the Great American Songbook\, featuring the music of composers such as George Gershwin\, Victor Young\, Bill Evans and Miles Davis. \nPatti began her career as a concert pianist\, but after hearing Oscar Peterson performing\, decided that jazz was the music she wanted to play. She worked with legendary bassist Scott LaFaro before he began working with pianist Bill Evans. She also performed with Mel Tormé\, Oscar Pettiford\, and the Terry Gibbs Dream Band from 1959 through 1961. One of the highlights of her career was playing at the Hickory House in New York City. ”It was pretty amazing to be playing to an audience consisting of many jazz greats like Miles Davis\, Gil Evans\, Erroll Garner\, Cannonball Adderley (he always called me ‘Miss Moran’}—and anyone who was anybody was playing in the city at that time.” \nThis is a very rare opportunity to hear Patti McCoy in such an intimate setting as the Old Siskiyou Barn on the 9 foot Mason & Hamlin Grand Piano. Make your reservations early as this show will sell out!

SUMMARY:JAZZ SAMBA ~ Bob Rawlings & The Ed Dunsavage Trio ~ SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:This performance is sold out. If you’d like to be added to the cancellation wait list\, please send us an email. \nJazz Samba\nA Tribute to Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd \nFor our final performance of the Winter/Spring Series we present a Tribute to Jazz Samba which was the first Bossa Nova recording made in the U.S. by saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Charlie Byrd and released by Verve Records in 1962. \nJazz Samba signaled the beginning of the Bossa Nova craze in America. Stan Getz was the featured soloist and the tracks were arranged by Charlie Byrd\, who had first heard Bossa Nova during a tour of Brazil in 1961. \nGetz and Byrd were accompanied by bassists Keter Betts and Joe Byrd\, Charlie Byrd’s brother who also played guitar. They were joined by two drummers: Buddy Deppenschmidt and Bill Reichenbach. The album was recorded at All Souls Unitarian Church in Washington\, D.C. on February 13\, 1962 and released in April of that year. \nTwo songs\, “Desafinado” (Off Key or Out of Tune) and “Samba de Uma Nota Só” (One Note Samba) were composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and were released as singles in the U.S. and Europe. Charlie Byrd wrote one song\, and the rest were by Brazilian composers. \nStan Getz won the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Performance of 1963 for “Desafinado”\, and went on to make many other Bossa Nova recordings\, notably with João Gilberto and Astrud Gilberto and the popular song “The Girl from Ipanema”. \nThis tribute will feature saxophonist Bob Rawlings along with Ed Dunsavage on guitar\, Joe Cohoon on bass and Chicken Hirsh on drums in the intimate setting of the Old Siskiyou Barn in the hills just outside of Ashland.

SUMMARY:Mimi Fox ~ Solo Acoustic
DESCRIPTION:CD Release Concert\n“A prodigious talent who has not only mastered the traditional forms but has managed to reinvigorate them.” – Guitar Player Magazine \nSiskiyou Music Project welcomes back guitarist Mimi Fox for a solo acoustic guitar performance at Paschal Winery on Friday\, May 24 at 7:00 p.m. \nVirtuoso guitarist Mimi Fox has earned international renown as a live-wire performer\, a startlingly poised improviser who can transform just about any tune into a thrilling and unpredictable instrumental adventure. But she doesn’t need to plug in to seize and hold an audience’s attention. While she’s best known for wielding her namesake Heritage Guitar Mimi Fox Signature model arch-top\, spinning solos that unfurl with surprise twists like expertly tailored short stories\, Fox is equally spellbinding on six and 12-string acoustic guitars. \nRecently signed by Taylor Guitars as an endorsing “partner\,” Fox has increasingly returned to her acoustic roots\, delivering her wildly imaginative reinterpretations of standards\, folk songs\, pop hits and R&B anthems. She gave a taste of her ravishing 12-string work on a gorgeous arrangement of George Harrison’s “Within You Without You” from May I Introduce to You (Ridgeway Records)\, the San Francisco String Trio’s acclaimed 2017 album celebrating the 50th anniversary of Beatles masterpiece Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Her acoustic prowess has earned standing ovations at major festivals around the world\, from the Kennedy Center and the Newport Folk Festival to the Montreal International Jazz Festival\, where her solo set earned three encores. \nHer love of the acoustic guitar and insistence on exploring disparate material was evident from the beginning of her recording career some three decades ago. Her 1985 award-winning debut release Against the Grain (Catero Records) featured a captivating Joni Mitchell medley of “Blue\,” “All I Want\,” and “Woodstock.” A decade later her 1995 album Turtle Logic (Monarch Records) included another gorgeous acoustic medley weaving together Holly Near’s “Hay Una Mujer\,” the spiritual “Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child\,” and Earth Wind and Fire’s “Shining Star.” \nAs Fox turned her attention to recording solo sessions in recent years she kept acoustic tracks firmly in the mix. She offered a particularly memorable window into her wide-open sensibility on 2013’s Standards Old & New (Origin Records)\, a masterly and typically far-ranging solo session that included acoustic versions of Lennon and McCartney’s “She’s Leaving Home\,” Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land\,” and Michael Jackson’s “She’s Out of My Life.” \nIn many ways Fox’s commitment to acoustic guitar reflects her earliest sources of inspiration. As a young teen\, she was first inspired to pick up the acoustic guitar by emerging singer/songwriters Joni Mitchell\, James Taylor\, Paul Simon\, and John Sebastian (a fellow Heritage Guitar endorser with whom she went on to play). During this time\, Mimi also heard the great guitarist/lutist Julian Bream in concert which inspired her to study classical guitar for several years. This study influenced her own composing and deepened her musicality even before she found her way to jazz. \n\n\n \n\n\nMimi Fox ~ Solo Acoustic\n\n\nGeneral $25.00 USDMembers $20.00 USDStudent with I.D $10.00 USD

SUMMARY:Jennifer Scott/Rene Worst - SOLD OUT!
DESCRIPTION:With guest guitarist Ed Dunsavage\nSiskiyou Music Project welcomes back two of Western Canada’s finest jazz musicians\, Jennifer Scott & Rene Worst. They will be joined by guitarist Ed Dunsavage for an intimate performance at the Old Siskiyou Barn. This Performance is now SOLD OUT! Please email us to be added to the cancellation list. \nRecent lauded performances have included Main Stage shows at the 2009 Vancouver Island Music Fest sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Jane Bunnett and Jerry Douglas. She received a lengthy standing ovation reception for her duo set with bassist Rene Worst at the same festival. \nJennifer was also featured at Stanford University performing at the Miles Davis tribute concert for their Concert series in tandem with The Jazz Museum in Harlem.

She will be joined by San Diego based guitarist Peter Sprague. \nWith a distinctive style that has earned her a loyal and rapidly growing fan base in her native country of Denmark and across the globe\, Sinee is considered the preeminent jazz vocalist in Scandinavia\,.
